Starting a Christian blog is a beautiful way to share your heart, encourage others in their faith, and point people toward Jesus. But when it comes to marketing your blog, it can feel a bit overwhelming - especially if you're trying to stay authentic and not overly "salesy."

You can share your message gently and intentionally, in ways that feel natural and God-honoring. Here are a few thoughtful ways to get your Christian blog in front of the right people:

1. Join Facebook Groups

There are so many wonderful Facebook groups where you can share your blog. Don’t just drop links - take the time to build relationships, answer questions, and offer encouragement. When it's appropriate to share your blog, go ahead and share your blog link - the right people will find it. I still use Facebook groups regularly, and they remain one of my favorite ways to connect with other bloggers.

2. Use Pinterest as a Traffic Source

Pinterest is a visual search engine, and it’s perfect for Christian content. Whether you write devotionals, Bible study guides, or lifestyle tips rooted in faith, Pinterest can bring long-term traffic to your blog.

Create simple, beautiful pins that reflect your blog’s message and link them directly to your posts. Over time, Pinterest can become a consistent source of traffic - even Pins you published a year or two ago can still bring in new readers. These days, I schedule 3–5 Pins a day, and that’s been enough for me.

Try different strategies to see what works for you, but the most important thing is to create fresh Pins. Fresh pins are new Pins that feature new images, designs, or content.

3. Focus on SEO

You don’t have to be tech-savvy to start using basic SEO (search engine optimization). Think about the questions your readers are asking: “How do I start reading the Bible?” or “Christian morning routines.” Then write blog posts that gently answer those questions.

I use Squarespace, and honestly, I don’t do much for SEO, but the built-in SEO features are enough to get some of my articles and products on the first page. In the past, I used WordPress, but I found it more complicated. So, I highly recommend Squarespace if you're just starting out. (I also have a 25% discount code for the first year on Squarespace, just message me if you need it!)

4. Start a Podcast (Or Be a Guest on One)

If you love to talk about faith and everyday life, podcasting is a great way to connect. You can start your own podcast to complement your blog, or reach out to Christian podcasts you admire and offer to be a guest. This is a gentle but powerful way to share your story, encourage others, and invite them to your blog.

In today’s world of constant scrolling, people have shorter attention spans, making podcasting a great way to help your audience build a deeper connection with you. When people listen to podcasts, they often do so while cleaning or walking, and they’re more likely to spend 15–20 minutes with your content. In contrast, an Instagram post typically only captures attention for 10-30 seconds.

5. Create a KDP Planner or Devotional

Amazon KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing) allows you to publish journals, planners, or devotionals without a large upfront investment. If you already write blog posts on topics like spiritual growth, prayer, or Bible study, consider turning them into a beautiful printable resource. It’s a gentle way to market your blog and attract a new audience. Just be sure to include a link back to your blog inside the book!

Marketing doesn’t have to feel pushy or sales-driven. It can be simple, gentle, and authentic. Keep writing, keep sharing, and keep trusting. You've got this.
