How to Use Your New Digital Planner on Your iPad with GoodNotes
If you’re new to digital planning, I totally get that it can feel both exciting and a bit overwhelming at first. Personally, I love digital planning because:
It gives me endless creative possibilities.
I can easily erase things when I need to.
It syncs across my devices.
All my planners are in one place!
I hope this guide helps you get started with your new planner in GoodNotes!
Import the Files to Your iPad
After you make your purchase, you’ll get a link to Google Drive or a zip file with your planner files. If you download the files directly to your iPad, you can unzip them by tapping on the file.
To import your planner into GoodNotes, follow these steps:
Option 1
Tap the file you want to open.
Tap Export in the top right corner.
Select Open in GoodNotes.
Option 2
Open the GoodNotes app.
Tap the +New icon.
Select Import.
Find your file in the Files app.
Tap on it to import it into GoodNotes.
How to Use Hyperlinks in Your digital Planner
To use hyperlinks in your digital planner, make sure you're in Read-only mode. This allows you to tap the links to move between pages.
To turn on Read-only mode, tap the pencil icon in the top right corner.
Once you're in Read-only mode, you can use the hyperlinks to navigate.
When you want to edit or write, simply turn off Read-only mode by tapping the pencil icon again.
Duplicating Pages
You can easily duplicate pages without breaking the hyperlinks. Here’s how:
Go to the page you want to duplicate.
Tap the More icon (3 dots in the top right corner).
Select Copy Page.
Go to where you want to paste the page.
Tap the Add Page icon (+) and choose whether to place the page Before, After, or Last Page. Then, select Paste Page.
Moving Pages
To rearrange pages in your planner:
Go to the page you want to move.
Tap the Thumbnail View (the icon with 4 squares).
Tap and hold the page, then drag it to where you’d like to move it.
Deleting Pages
Please note that if you delete a page that is hyperlinked, this link will stop working. If you still want to delete a page, follow these steps:
Tap the Thumbnail View (4 squares in the top left corner).
Tap Select in the upper right corner.
Choose the pages you want to delete.
Tap the trash icon.
And that’s it! Your digital planner is now all set up in GoodNotes and ready to use! If you have any more questions or need help, just let me know in the comments – I’m happy to assist!
